Going Back to Basics. — Fashion, Some Days

Happy Hump Day ya'll! I know my posts have been in short supply the past weeks and I really appreciate you all bearing with me during this blogging hiatus. Truth be told, since we moved I've had an overwhelming feeling to purge; mainly my closet, but other household items as well. It was weird coming into a new house with all the things I had kept in the old house, packed up, and moved across town, and then opening boxes and having a feeling of I don't want to create space for this in my life anymore. It's weird how the energy changes in a new space, this house is great, it feels fresh and positive and I even have a bigger closet now, where I can store all my clothing and see it all, but I want to get rid of it all. To be honest, I think I'm having a quarter life style crisis, through blogging and being a style influencer I have felt compelled for years to wear something new almost every single day. It's exhausting. And I'm not complaining I have loved every minute of sharing my style with you all, but a switch flipped over the past two months where what I wear everyday isn't my priority anymore, my priority is now what I do everyday. For the adventure, for the good of others, for work, for fun, for the future, etc. And this has been something I've been struggling with the past two weeks, how to channel my lack of style inspiration into an inspiration for something else. So that's why I appreciate you all waiting around for me to come around, I finally have found inspiration again, and it's a more vast inspiration to just share with you all. I'm looking forward to getting more involved in the community, planning for trips, trying new things, slowly re-decorating our house, and spending as much time in the outdoors as possible, with of course some great looks along the way, and I am so excited to share all of this with you!

As for today's outfit. I was going back through all my Pinterest boards and I realized all the images I've been tagging that are inspiring to me, I'm not actually carrying out in my day to day life. Lots of minimal, a little boho, and mainly classic, timeless silhouettes that won't go out of style. As part of my closet purge, I'm condensing my closet back down to basics, not that I won't try some trendy items here and there to keep things interesting, but I want to have more of an effortless wardrobe that can be mix and matched rather than a bunch of statement pieces. Today I went for a vintage inspired look, with this thrifted from Goodwill Ralph Lauren men's button down and some vintage Calvin Klein Jeans I also thrifted. I modernized it slightly with some minimal silver hoops and a favorite block heel sandal. This look was great for a warm, Summer day but swap the sandals out for an oxford or ankle boot, and voila, an easy pre-Fall look as well; classic, timeless, effortless.
