New Year, Same Me. — Fashion, Some Days

A belated Happy New Year friends! It’s been a while and I apologize that my outfits and style tips have been in short supply the past few weeks. I think it’s been clear the past few months that I’ve been continuously trying to reevaluate my goals for this space and of course a New Year always brings a lot of reflection. I’m not one for resolutions; I think it’s important to look back on the previous year appreciate the good and shake off the bad so you can start the new year with a positive attitude. But, I don’t think it’s necessary that we set semi unrealistic goals for ourselves just because the calendar changes, why set yourself up to be disappointed in yourself in two months? You don’t deserve that, you were a kind human being yesterday, you’re still a kind human being today whether or not you ate fast food this week. So let’s say my ‘hope’ for 2019 is just to be a nicer human to those around me, to my husband, my co-workers, my family, strangers in passing, the barista at the coffee shop and to my self. With so much negativity and hate happening in the world we all deserve a little more kindness so let’s focus on that this year.

As for Fashion by Day, my hope for this space is to continue to share, and to hopefully inspire at least a few of you in some aspect of your life. I’m gearing up for a very busy few months, from my best friend getting married, to my brother getting married, both on different parts of the country and I’m going to share those adventures with you and of course what I’m actually wearing a long the way. Starting with today’s look; this Lacausa Sarai jumpsuit which you can shop here, was one of my only Black Friday/Cyber Monday purchases. It’s still available for only $40 - and I absolutely love the color and subtle texture of the animal print. My only beef with this beauty if the ease at which it wrinkles. Great for a standing occasion, but maybe not so great for a day at the office. I layered it up with my favorite cozy jacket I scooped up at the Nest a few weeks ago and headed out to run some errands. Working on getting back into a regular routine after odd days off for the holidays.
