Every Day Oil Cleansing.
It was a mere two months ago when I was on here breaking down the ins and outs of my skincare routine and how I was factoring my new found intrigue into jade rolling into it. Remember that? Well my friends, I’ve done a complete 180 and over the past month have entirely changed my skincare practices except for..well, the occasional jade rolling.
When I first started at East Fork, my co-workers were sharing information with me about the non pottery items we carry and when it came to Everyday Oil they basically instilled in me, this is an East Fork staple, it’s everyone’s favorite product and almost every employee uses it in some capacity. It’s also made locally in Black Mountain, NC by a super sweet gal and comes in a beautiful, simple and recyclable glass bottle. Intrigued by these testimonials I purchased a small bottle and dabbled in using a bit here and there as a night time oil on my face. Let’s just say aside from enjoying the amazing smell (seriously smells so dreamy, Andrew has started using post shower after a good dry brushing) I considered my life and skin unchanged and found myself sticking to my routine and reaching for other serums and oils instead.
Fast forward to around New Years; I was perusing the Everyday Oil site, in search of more information about the product and I got to reading about the various uses and found myself thoroughly engulfed in the FAQs tab. All this juicy information about this being the only product you could possibly need for skincare, along with the endless homages to the product on Instagram I thought, my skin can’t be that different from everyone else’s, this oil is meant to change my life too. I have pretty classic combination skin, I battle with some adult acne, and a bit of dryness here and there, but I decided that if I was going to decide if this was the product for me or not I needed to give it a real go and make this the only piece to my skincare puzzle. At the beginning of January I began using Everyday Oil on my skin almost* exclusively. (*still use the occasional face mask and every few days I use an SPF moisturizer - it is winter after all) This really means using EO as my makeup remover, cleanser, serum, moisturizer, everything. Wash my face with it typically in the shower, apply to my damp skin after the shower, or just a little extra here and there for moisturizing. And I’m LOVING IT!
Now full disclaimer, I don’t think my skin has gone through a life changing transformation. My new skincare routine is amazing, using ONE product is amazing, it’s so simple. When we went to Knoxville it was our first time traveling since the change, and having to only pack my 2oz bottle and my makeup was a breeze! It will be even more convenient for plane travel in the future. Of course my acne has not magically cleared up, I wouldn’t expect it to after only about 4 weeks, but I do feel like my skin is feeling more glowy, it’s feeling smoother and it’s just feeling overall more clean.
Let’s just say, from being about 2 steps away from a 10 step Korean skincare routine, to dialing it way back down to essentially 1 continuous step feels pretty good. I’m no skincare expert by any means I haven’t been to a dermatologist in about ten years, but there’s endless research and testimonials on oil cleansing you can read on and my two cents on the subject is if you’re in a skincare rut and trying to change it up I would definitely suggest giving it a try and would highly recommend Everyday Oil as the place to start. That’s all I have to say. Let me know if you’ve tried it, are planning to or if have any questions down below!
