Bar Taco's Best Kept Secret.

It's no exaggeration that Asheville is home to an endless amount of restaurants, with new ones popping up what seems like every week. Andrew and I have tried and loved so much good food in the 828 and one spot that's really working it's way into our hearts is Bar Taco. We have been invited in a couple of times for lunch and have always found we have left having had so much fun and with full bellies. Something Bar Taco doesn't heavily advertise or even include on their fill out your own menu sheet is their ever changing 'Secret Taco.' A rotating chef's special taco that always seems to push the envelope. You either have to know to ask for it or write it in yourself when you fill out your order form. It's such a fun way to try new foods as well as add an heir of mystery to your date. So far Andrew and I have discovered their crispy avocado taco, which is now out of rotation and more recently their lamb taco, which is a street style taco with all the fixins of a classic gyro. Bar Taco's cocktails are all made from the freshest ingredients when you order and my personal favorite drink is the Paloma Fresca, a refreshing grapefruit cocktail that perfectly compliments some fresh tacos and some light afternoon bites. Some of Andrew and my other favorite tacos are the portobello, crispy rock shrimp, duck, cauliflower and the tuna tatako which is a sushi lover's dream! The tacos are very affordable ranging from $2.50 to $4 depending on the toppings so it makes it fun to order a bunch and share.
