Date Night to Fonta Flora.
Hi ya’ll sorry for being MIA the past week or so, I’ve been wrapped up getting into the swing of my new job, and the weather has been wet and gloomy so getting any sort of outfit shots has been out of the question! One of the biggest perks of my new job is the schedule, which has me home every evening by 5:30p and has given Andrew and I the opportunity to spend more time together and explore new date night activities. A few weeks ago Fonta Flora Brewery opened a second location and tasting room in Nebo, North Carolina about an hour outside of Asheville near Lake James. They opened on old, Whippoorwill Farm off of NC-126, and the location couldn’t be more peaceful. You’re probably wondering why we drove an hour outside of Beer City, USA to go to a tasting room, but the drive alone was part of the adventure, enjoying the winding country roads was all part of the fun. Fonta Flora’s beers are also very unique and quite tasty, so Andrew and I each enjoyed ours then took some time to wander around the property and the old buildings that have been there. From what we could tell (without major research) there aren’t too many restaurants along the way so we worked our way back towards Asheville and stopped for dinner at Trailhead in Black Mountain. A local spot that has a curated menu of farm to table bar food (sounds like an oxymoron) where nothing can really steer you wrong. If you’re looking for a fun thing to do and a way to pass some time I would definitely recommend taking a drive out to Whippoorwill Farm and perhaps working your way back into Black Mountain for dinner and ice cream at Kilwin’s. Is it almost the weekend?
