Seasonal Dressing in this Season of Life.
Hello dear friends! Wow has it been a while! Over the past week and a half I got the news that I would temporarily be working remotely in Atlanta, packed up half my life to drive down here, started working a couple very long days out of a new space and all the while preparing for my best friends wedding that’s coming up on the 22nd of June. Whirlwind! With that said, I have been fully embracing outfit repetition and haven’t had a minute to think if there’s anything lacking in my summer wardrobe. In retrospect, it’s so helpful that over the past couple of months I’ve been putting so much thought into building my capsule wardrobe of sorts - because when life is moving fast it’s so convenient to be able to reach for a handful of pieces/outfits you know you love and not think twice. Also amazing for packing!
For this busier than normal season of my life, I’ve come to realize that my seasonal dressing is currently focused way more on ease and comfort than trends. Which for me means lots of skirts and dresses and good, neutral basics. You may not remember this crinkle midi skirt from a couple months ago, because it’s reversible, and when I wore it here, I showed off the floral print side. Reversible or not, this lightweight, basic skirt is so versatile! I’ve honestly been wearing it at least once a week, and having a piece like this can go so far in your closet. Paired with a white tee and a denim jacket, or styled a little funkier (as you dream you’re on a tropical vacation) with a vintage top and beaded handbag. Maybe in your current season of life you’re really focused on recreating every Carrie Bradshaw look from Sex and the City Season two, or perhaps trying to find the perfect Rachel Green slip dresses - whatever you’re facing in your current season just remember to make it about you. Focus on what you want to focus on, dress in what makes you happy and comfortable and confident and embrace what’s coming your way! That’s what I’m trying to do at least, and so far getting by, but one question, anyone know a great on the fly tailor in ATL? Let me know!
